Regilious people. If a person steels a million dollars and another steals a poor persons last dime which is worse of the two?

Evil is evil regardless. So both will burn in hell for steeling because one is just a wrong as the other. Maybe I don't understand the Christian doc.

Update:

Corvus. I have been out of school for over 50 years so I probably have forgotten more than you will ever know. But once in a while I still make a boo boo.

You understand it correctly.  Every sin is equal and they will all send you to Hell.  Stealing bread to feed your starving family is just as sinful as murdering an orphaned baby.  And all of this is because some snake told a rib-woman to eat some fruit.

Sounds like you are the worse if you cannot see any difference.

I don't remember the Latin for this proverb, but this is the English translation:

    >> To be better than the worst is not goodness. <<

Stealing is stealing, Med, regardless of how well off the victim is, or how much in need the thief might be.  It's every bit as wrong to steal a million bucks from a billion-dollar corporation as it is to steal a waitress's tips.  Besides, hasn't it ever occurred to you that anyone who would steal a dollar from a grocery store cash register wouldn't think there was anything wrong with shoplifting a lipstick or looting a TV or robbing a bank?

Second, the one and only unforgivable sin is BLASPHEMY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.  That can be defined in several different ways, but they boil down to unbelief or rejection of the Lord's offer of forgiveness to all who believe in Jesus Christ as God and Savior (John 1:12-13, 3:16-17, Ephesians 2:8-9.  See also Hebrews 10:26-31).

As you said yourself, Med, "evil is evil regardless." You CANNOT gain salvation by your own efforts, because you're already tainted with sin.  You were born with a sinful nature, as we all were, and sooner or later you confirmed that you are a sinner by actively sinning.

James 2:10  For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.

Just one little sin at any point in your life, and you confirm that you ARE a sinner, and cannot free yourself from sin's power over you.  That is true whether you steal a dollar, cheat on your spouse, or murder a neighbor.   Only Jesus can free us, washing us clean and making us fit to face our Father in heaven.

Under the old Covenant a person who stole committed sin because they broke a Commandment of God "Thou shalt not steal"

Under the new Covenant a person who stole commits sin because they failed to Love the person they stole from.

    A person steals a car.

A person steals money from a purse.

    Which is worse?

To God BOTH failed to love the person they stole from. regardless the value of the thing.

To Man the person who stole the car is worse, and will suffer greater than the person who stole money from the purse via the Law of the land.

Woe to this generation who thinks God keeps track of this or that particular sin. What God keeps track of meticulously is how many time you FAIL to Love One Another as He COMMANDED YOU to do.

And what's worse is, how many people in this generation when they go to God in prayer ask for forgiveness for all those that they FAILED to Love today?

So they not only FAILED to Love One Another, but FAILED to repent of it.

Again, as i have said in the past, BILLIONS of professing Christians of this generation will NOT be accepted into Heaven, even if they feel they should have been.

They are both sinners as you and I are sinners.  They will only go to hell if they refuse to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.  I will be in heaven because I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.  Here is the truth: The Lord Jesus Christ is God. Nobody can be good enough to avoid hell. The truth is that death leads to immediate heaven or hell, depending only on whether the person believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, or not. The truth is that the Lord Jesus Christ loves you and wants to bless your life freely :) Most of all, Jesus wants you with Him forever, and not in hell.

    .

Believing on the Lord Jesus Christ means being forgiven all sins past and future and means going to heaven. The truth is that every belief except one will lead to eternal torment in the lake of fire for every person. Because nothing pays for our sins except the death and blood of Jesus, the sacrifice of Jesus that is already accomplished by Him . Jesus loves you! The truth is that the Lord Jesus Christ is God, and Jesus died on the cross to pay for all of our sins in full, and then Jesus was buried, and then Jesus resurrected from the dead. Nothing else pays for our sins, not works, not deeds, not religions. So the only way to heaven and to avoid hell, is by believing on Jesus for eternal life (John 6:47), without adding any of your own works (Romans 4:5). Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ to take you to heaven, and you will be in heaven, no matter what, guaranteed. That easy, thanks to Jesus! Tell Jesus that you thank Him that you will be with Him in heaven

According to Jesus some people will recieve greater damnation than others. Not everyone is punished the same. God weighs our sins on His balances and im sure He takes every little thing into consideration.
