Spent multiple days frustrated, looking for answers? ?

Question

I am wanting to buy a pair of hiking boots that are completely waterproof up to the top of the boot. Everywhere I look, I find boots that have great reviews but I can't trust them because there is always someone who says the boots leak, while 99% of the other people say they do not. I am willing to spend $300 for a pair of waterproof hiking boots. Can someone tell me what boots are comfortable, breathable, stylish and affordable enough to use to hike on concrete, mud, grass, sand, through shallow creeks, on pebbles/rocks and in snow. I want to use these boots to hike the Appalachian Trail one day.

research military combat boots. {I still have mine.} Leather will be waterproof if you wax them good enough.

Try Cabela's. I just did a simple search on their Web site and there were 132 results for "waterproof hiking boots". I am pretty sure you can select a pair of boots from Cabela`s.
