I check everything I read through a source that should be reliable according to the issue and locality.  For instance, when you see covid-19 stats, its best to go directly to the CDC website.  If you are wondering about the Portland "peaceful" protests, go directly to a local Portland news site.  You get the idea.  You will feel a lot less played if you take nobody's word for it in newspapers and national TV.

Check it out for yourself.  Trump's election has only made the media become much more creative, even fictional but it didn't start with him..

Since 2008 I've had to get my news about America from overseas. Good thing I also know French and German. In the US, the internet and satellite TV are not blocked, but you need to make an effort to search for a good source. If you're lazy and take what the US media feeds you, then they control the info you get.

You cannot trust MSM, not only for what they tell us but also what they don't tell us.

    You're welcome

I labeled the Media as being the "Mainstream Media Propaganda Machine" back in late 2008. Originally I became very suspicious of them during LBJ's Administration.

My opinion of them has not improved over the last 12 years. They are now openly and blatantly admitting they create false stories to create the Political Bias they want and they take orders from the DNC while never publishing anything positive about the achievements of President Trump.

Recent examples: They were told by the DNC not to publish anything negative anout Kamala Harris.

The Media never mentioned the great achievement of Trump getting a Major Middle Peace deal done and kept the public ignorant about what he was accomplishing. President Trump had to announce it on Twitter. After announcing it on Twitter, unlike most of his Tweets, the Media Propagandists Still ignore that Very Important Achievement. Likely because they can't figure out how to negatively spin the story.

My distrust of the media started some 35 or so years ago and has grown annually.  With the nomination and election of Trump, the little trust that remained has evaporated.

The media just cannot be trusted.

    Like Thomas Jefferson said:

“Nothing can now be believed which is seen in a newspaper. Truth itself becomes suspicious by being put into that polluted vehicle.”

After Trump's election I have learned who to trust, who to be cautious about trusting, and who to definitely not trust.
