Do non profit board directors get paid?

    Depends.

    Are you talking about a huge non-profit like The Red Cross or are you talking about a local cat rescue?

    Lots of small non-profits have ZERO paid employees.

    Sometimes.  Each non-profit gets to make their own decision.

    They do and in many cases better than people running real companies

    It depends on the organization. Some get paid and donate it back. Some only get expenses. Some get a small amount such as $100. They are all different. Now, for the really big ones, yes, they get paid.
