I have a 2018 Honda cbr1000rr, manual says to use 10-w30 oil. Can I use 10-w40 since I only ride in the summer and not the winter?

If the bike is still under warranty, use the recommended oil.

The engineers know who designed it know more than you. Use the 10-w30 oil. Also use a motorcycle oil not an automotive oil. The motorcycle oil has higher sheer resistance due to your bikes unitised motor/transmission. The gears of that tranny are using that same oil.

Why would you want to run anything other than the weight they specify? The ONLY legit reason would be if you had really high miles.
