Is the biblical God's love conditional or unconditional?

God's love is manifested in His Supreme sacrifice to save us.

As such it neither has nor has not conditions. It simply is.

God loves all of His creation but He gave us rules. We are told that NO sin will enter Heaven so that means that if we choose to continue sinning, and will not repent, God will not allow us to dwell with Him for eternity - we will be sent 'elsewhere'.  That does not mean that God doesn't love us still but He will not allow those who continue to sin to contaminate Heaven. They will be going to hell of their own choosing because they discarded His gift of SALVATION.

God's love is unconditional, but HE also has a kingdom to manage.  If he doesn't set rules the whole world will run amok of things.  What would be the point of setting a standard if everyone is allowed to do as he/she pleases.

I would have to say BOTH actually.  God's love WAS unconditional when He died for us ALL, particularly as we were his enemies at the time. For He sent His only begotten Son into the world, not to condemn the world but that the world through Him, could be saved (John 3: 16 & 17).   Who do any of us know who would actually be willing to DIE FOR THEIR ENEMIES?  If we are honest - no human being  - that's for sure, but God did that for us.  That is pure and true unconditional love.   God came to earth in a flesh body (John 1:14) and knew He would have to  be tortured, stabbed, spat upon, insulted and crucified which is one of the worst deaths anyone can suffer because it's long and drawn out in the hot sun.

However, the reason I also say God's love is conditional is because what God has done for us HE HAS FINISHED.  That's why Jesus cried out - "It is finished" because everything God can do  for us to be saved has been done and finished on the cross, in order for us to be saved.  Now it's up to us.

So if we REFUSE His wonderful sacrifice for our sins, on the last day (which is Judgement) God could not possibly have his enemies and unbelievers and atheists etc., in heaven for eternity, so He will turn to His WRATHFUL SIDE and those who refuse Christ's sacrifice for their sins in this life NOW, whilst they have the opportunity, will - in eternity, have to PAY FOR THEIR OWN SINS BY BEING PUNISHED IN HELL FOR ETERNITY.

So now you can see why God's love is BOTH unconditional and conditional

God's Love for us is UNconditional.

However, What we receive of God is very conditional.

Those who do NOT draw close to God, God does not draw close to. God loves that person UNCONDITIONALLY, however God's hands are tied based on specific conditions outlined in His very Word.

John 3:16, For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world might be saved through him.
