Can i drive the same day my limited license expires?

I was able to drive the same day my tags expired but tags arent a license so i want to make sure. My license expires on September 5th but the next available DMV appointment is in October

    You may drive legally until midnight on Sept. 5........IF.....Your plates are valid and you have the car insured.

    Smart people check their licensing department for extensions on expiration.  Why you haven't attempted to renew online by now is a mystery

    You can probably drive on September 5, but after that, you would be operating a vehicle without a license. You can't legally drive again until you have a valid license.
