Question about VLC Media Player?

I'm looking to transfer a song from my VLC media player over to my video editor. Ultimately I'd like to put the song in the background of a video I'm creating. Is there a way to transfer this song over to the video editor? Thank you in advance.

The song is not in VLC. VLC is just a media player. The song can be imported to the video editor for merging with the video. If you don't have a video editor, try VSDC.

I may be mistaken, but a song opened in the VLC player comes from your Music files on your computer hard drive. At least that's how my files are stored. The VLC player opens files you have on your computer. When I added songs to my Windows Movie Maker program, I would add the MP3 file from my Music files using Windows Movie Maker.
