Do retail workers have to wear a face covering when behind the shields at till points?

Question

Where I work we all still wear our masks behind the plastic shields between the customers and colleagues regardless of whether it is mandatory or not, but I was curious is this a mandatory thing that we still have to wear them behind the shields?

If it’s not mandatory, this won’t change anything we will still wear the masks, but I was curious.

It depends on where you are at.  Most business owners are scared of trial lawyers that are like parasites on society.  The little good they do is outweighed by the blood they suck from their victims.  They will destroy any company if it turns out someone catches COVID from one of their employees or if one of their employees catches it from a customer.......lots of other potential liabilities.    I see you are from Great Britain so I don't know what you laws are but they tend to be more draconian than US.

It depends a lot on where you are.  There is no virus where I am (Yukon Territory, Canada), so masks are actually very rare.  Many shops have plexiglass screens in front of their tills, but, that's about it.  Other places, there are shields, masks, and even face shields, all being done together - and, is a legal requirement.
