Nope. If you’re able to pass a background check, you should be able to own any gun you want for self defense. The 2nd Amendment gives Americans the right to bear arms, and in the era of Antifa literally burning down cities, a handgun isn’t always enough to defend your home.

No. It is just another hunting rifle and no you can't convert it to a fully automatic weapon you will end up ruining your weapon.

Hunting rifles, shotguns and handguns (for personal self-defense) have legitimate reasons to be owned by civilians. AR-15s are military grade weapons that go beyond what is necessary for hunting or self-defense and have been used in mass shootings. In addition, it is possible to modify them to become fully automatic and hence much more deadly. In civilian hands, the risk to benefit ratio is too great and they should be made illegal.
