What is your opinion about the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) and should we keep it or get rid of it ?
Many Republicans want to see the the Affordable Care Act terminated as soon as possible because they feel it has increased prices for health insurance. Democrats want to keep the Affordable Care Act because by dismantling it, it would leave 20 million Americans without Health Coverage, and its especially bad during a pandemic. What is your opinion about Obamacare?

Democrats want to keep the Affordable Care Act ? Why then did every candidate running for president run on scraping it or fixing it?
I live in Ma, one of the bluest state there is, most of the people in Ma supported Obama and the ACA. Except our state legislators. They went to court four separate times trying to get Ma exempt from the ACA. The reasons they listed was it would cost more, which it did for the people of Ma. That it's tentacles reached too far into and crossing over into personal lives. That people would lose their long standing relationships with their personal docs, which most of us did.
The ACA for myself/my family, more then doubled out of pocket and monthly payments while also cutting our coverage. It actually increased the rate of uninsured in Ma.

It's the only effort to reform health care for the benefit of the public in since forever. Everybody but actually especially the Republican party, back when it existed, blew up much smoke and rhetoric but actually DID exactly nothing. Just like the alt-right has been since 2016. "We will have a much better plan". But they haven't they don't and they won't. That's because ACA is the first and only step in the right direction. They want to dismantle ACA because Obama is Black and Democrat and they may as well just say so.
>The government’s official record-keeper estimated that health care costs under the ACA would reach $4.14 trillion per year in 2017 and constitute 20.2 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP).
>Fast forward to December 2018, when that same office released the official tabulation of health care spending in 2017. The bottom line: cumulatively from 2010 to 2017 the ACA reduced health care spending a total of $2.3 trillion.

The ACA is farcical legislation. It was passed 100% along party lines. The Senate version of the bill was passed by the House without reconciliation. Democrats confirmed that no one had read the bill. It was passed in lame duck session to give Obama a legislative win. The Supreme Court upheld the law by declaring the individual mandate a "tax". It is the only legislation that requires American Citizens to purchase a product from the marketplace because of their existence. The bigger problem is the notion that health care is an entitlement and by osmosis that government should be involved. The ACA is law, and like a freight train, it is hard to stop. It will take action by Congress and/or the Supreme Court to stop the train. It's doubtful that either one of those bodies will act any time soon on the ACA.

Obama said it would save money, but it did the opposite while still leaving millions of Americans uninsured.
I already had good insurance, and under Obamacare many of my deductibles and coinsurances were waived, increasing premiums. What did that accomplish? People like me who have insurance should pay coinsurance.
My company dropped their early retirement option because premiums went up so much due to Obamacare.

It should have NEVER been passed, particularly since it had overwhelming public opposition when it was passed. That's why the left was voted out and lost more and more influence for the next eight years. But then, it has since done FAR more damage than anyone ever expected. It has helped a few and harmed so very many more. We all know what a very intelligent man Barack Obama was so clearly this damage was not unintentional. Leaves one to wonder then, why did he do that to America and the American people?
