Singer Jimi Jameson of the band Survivor was born on August 23, 1951 and had a draft number of 10 on July 1, 1970. Why wasn't he drafted?

I looked on various articles and couldn't find anything that mentioned why he wasn't drafted. With a draft number of 10, he should have been drafted.  Does anyone know if he had a medical exemption?

The July 1 1970 drawing was considered the 1971 draft, and from 1971 on, actual inductions slowed to a trickle. Students enrolled in colleges from 1968 onward generally received deferments to age 24. Jamison attended the University of Memphis beginning in 1969 and most likely had such a deferment, which would have protected him until 1975, by which time inductions had ceased for at least three years, in spite of lottery drawings being held until 1973.
