Is direct democracy a stupid idea, letting the dumbest most ill-informed have as much a say in the government as the smart/well informed ?

This is why no nation on Earth uses national direct democracy. 

But that implies the very thing you pretend it doesn't.!!!!!

Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

There are only a few direct democracies left. Switzerland comes closest. The US is a republic, not a democracy.
