Do you think Yahoo discontinuing comments was a ploy for political reasons?

Uninformed of true facts before the election?

Update:

It was a statistical fact mostly conservatives commented.

Yes... It's all about controlling the narrative, and in order to do that, you can't have people thinking for themselves, or discussing facts in open forums.

Yes it was so we could not discuss the election and call out their lies.

Many of us don't live in the USA, even if we answer questions about the USA. (I know a lot of Americans, some of whom I consider friends. And hence have a good idea on many American-only topics.)

But the reason for dropping the comments on answers is probably more to cut down the vitriol that was being spewed on anything that someone disagreed with, especially in the politics and R&S areas.

Of course it was. They discontinued the comments once they realized people were

not caring about the poor illegal aliens and their plight during this pandemic with not

getting a stimulus check or any help with being here illegally.

This was done to get Harris into the White House.  Everybody is sick of her crying and complaining because she was discriminated against because she's black.

They got rid of it so idiots like Mike and Retired Old Sarge can't verbally assault people behind the comfort of their keyboard

Definitely. The yahoo notes were very unfavorable to Trump and in the comments he recovered a lot of support, so they removed the comments. In yahoo in Spanish yahoo also supports the ruling coalition in Spain of socialists, communists, extreme left and ETA guerrillas.

BLM and antifa made a festival of hatred, intolerance, violence, for months in some cities. Robberies, looting, burning, demolition of statues, murders (David Dorn, Jessica Whitaker, Dave Underwood and several more). Hordes of fire attacking properties, institutions, police, etc.

And the violent and intolerant is Trump !!!!!

Sometimes I find it hard to believe, are they serious or is it a joke?

To be convinced, do you need more demonstrations of Marxist hatred yet?

We'll find out in a month.  Though if it was for reasons related to the election, I want to think that it's because they don't want disinformation influencing young and first time voters.  I think that's kind of a living-in-a-bubble way of thinking and a bit too convoluted for what voting in an election really is since if one is voting in a presidential election they should want to hear what all of the American people think not just what is allowed into their bubble?  Also, there is a possibility that they don't want foreign intelligence having such a view of the American people during the elections.

Politics can bring out the worst in people.  So far Yahoo hasn't censored like Twitter or FB.  I hope that will not happen, because free speech is a wonderful thing.  In America, no one has a right to tell us who we can or cannot vote for.  No one has a right to censor free speech or freedom of the press.   Americans love our freedoms and they are worth fighting for.
