This sounds like a homework assignment. Is this a midterm paper for the final year of fashion school? I had to write a 5000 word paper on societal changes and how they impacted fashion. There was no internet for research back then so I had to use books. I focused on one aspect of the subject: the middle of the 20th century. If this is a homework essay focus on one aspect of technology and write about that. For example, logistics -how merchandise gets from the sample room to manufacturers to store buyers to the retail floor. Or manufacturing, from individually cut pattern pieces and human cutters to modern computer generated CAD/CAM markers, fabric laying robots and robotic cutters. Or shopping itself, how technology has fundamentally changed how end consumer's obtain fashion to wear. If this is homework I can point you in the right direction, but I'm not doing your essay for you.
