I am thinking about raising a mouse to have some company at home, can anyone tell me how much work it is, and what I need to watch out for ?

After their eyes are open and weaned its quite easy.

Rearing pinky's or fuzzies is real challenge most are not up to.

In their 3rd week, they are hoppers so be careful in holding them.

NO chocolates, keep a heavy lid on sweets/sugars, and salts. No spices.

Plain Cheerios or Wheaties make good treats for training. Just a smudge of plain peanut butter, too much they can choke on, otherwise, they can eat any healthy human foods.

Watch out for escaping.... They might bite cords.
