What Biden did was help pressure Ukraine to clean up their act wrt corruption. Part of that was replacing a Prosecutor General who was NOT effectively prosecuting corruption cases.

The idea that this was corrupt founders on several levels. First off, and perhaps most importantly, is that Hunter Biden was never under investigation. What WAS under investigation was Burisma Holdings, a company on whose board Hunter Biden sat. Furthermore, the idea that this was some kind of attempt to protect his son is undermined by the fact that the investigation into Burisma had closed several months before Biden asked for this guy to be replaced. Finally, replacing this Prosecutor General with someone who was more interested in fighting corruption would have INCREASED the likelihood that Hunter Biden was investigated and charged (assuming he DID anything wrong for which there is no evidence).

The prosecutor was supposed to be investigating Burisma and wasn't doing anything.  This has all been well documented including Republican Senators supporting the firing of a do nothing corrupt investigator.  Biden delivered the message from the US backed by the EU and Ukrainian reformers the prosecutor had to go.

The trick is leaving out the part where Biden’s goal was entirely above board, and part of a global agenda to fight corruption and promote democracy, while Trump’s goal was entirely corrupt, in that he was trying to force Zelensky to open a fake investigation in service to Trump’s personal interests. But hey, they both made demands of Ukraine! That will be enough to draw a false equivalence.
