Why do American nurses have to wait longer than British nurses for a Covid-19 vaccine?

The FDA introduced a brand new rule that requires vaccine makers to follow their patients for 60 days after their last immunization before applying for an emergency use authorization.

There is no scientific reason for this arbitrary amount of time other than make sure the vaccine is not released before the election.

Every week the vaccine is delayed another 500 Americans, many of them nurses, dies from Covid.

NHS workers are 'set to get a vaccine in weeks' as the Government accelerates timetable for a mass roll-out before Christmas - while ministers introduce new laws to bypass EU approval for jab

It's to make sure that the vaccine is safe and doesn't end up causing more deaths than the virus.  That's unlikely, but it could happen.
