How to tell current job I am Starting another job?

So I am starting another job. Its no big deal as both jobs are part time. My current job usually gives me night shifts from 4pm to closing but I need to be the person that comes in from 5pm to close (yes they have that people come in at 5pm. I have done it before multiple times). My new job will be in the mornings from 7am - 11am 3 days a week (was 4 but because they hired too many people they reduced me a day)

How can I tell my current job? Im kind of nervous but I am not quitting. I can do both I will have a 5 hour gap in between.

I just need to tell my current job so they know not to give me day shifts on the days I have my other job. Plus it is only seasonal for now. (I tried writing it and i put it in the requested time off box but my schedule wasn’t changed)

Update:

This is my first time doing this. I have been at my current job 5 years

Update 2:

I couldn’t tell the manager in person because whenever I was scheduled to work the manager who I need to inform this information to was not working

Update 3:

My current job is retail all I do is clean the floor and unlock michael kors bags for customers so it shouldn’t be a problem

Update 4:

They did it for other coworkers and for coordinators who stepped down from that position and now they work once a week

If you reduce your availability to your current job, it could backfire and they now have a valid reason to let you go.

You are making things worse and worse for

yourself by dilly dallying. You most definitely

need to tell the manager in person. Since you

say that they are not working when you are,

then you need to talk to them when they ARE

there. Call them, or make an appointment,

    whatever it takes.

You'll find this schedule very difficult to keep.  5 hours between shifts isn't enough to get adequate sleep. You'll be lucky to get 3 hours sleep, by the time you get home, get settled down, and then have to get up again to get ready and get to your job.

Go in person when your manager is working to talk to him about your situation. Now if the shift you want to be permanently scheduled for is a higher paying (tips?) shift, don’t expect to get it as it’s not fair to co workers.

You provide a note that your availability is not blank to blank.

Realize that a company does not need to adhere to your requested availability.

It sounds like you're worried that they may be disappointed in you. Don't think of it like that, think of it in terms of what's best for you, and right now you're working this second job so tell your current employer straight up. If they don't like it that's their problem. Your life doesn't revolve around this seasonal job.

You have no choice but to hire a professional writer if you can't manage to tell your boss in person.
