Harry Potter fans: which death was more upsetting for you, dumbledore or snapes death?

I've read the books
more than once
and
I really don't understand all of the sympathy for Snape.
Many of his actions were really horrible
(not in ANY way self-sacrificing or honorable, not even in the role of a double agent).
Prime examples are found in Prisoner of Azkaban, but there are MANY others in the other books.
Snape died badly
but he was a murderous fellow
without just cause
and (so) it wasn't as if he didn't deserve it.
Dumbly definitely didn't deserve it.
Even though we discover his death was planned (i.e. that was NOT a case of Snape being murderous), it was undeserved.

I've read the books 16 times and nowhere does it say that Snape dies!
