    And yet for parents during the never ending COVID-19 lockdowns they're about the only form of reward/leverage we have to dangle in front of our kids.

    I started playing video games when Pong came out in 1972. In 1980, I graduated to the home version video game Intellivision. I bought PS 1-4 as they came out. The collective hrs. of fun I've had playing video games would be several weeks. Let me guess ... you suck at them ... lol.
