is the 2000 election between Bush and Gore, was that the only time in U.S. history, the Supreme Court intervened in a presidential election?

or have there been other times? other occurances? It was 20 years ago, but the legacy, outcome of that election, will always be controversial, some people think if a state-wide recount in Florida had been allowed to continue longer, Gore might have won.

    When the press said Gore won there were still people who lived on Florida's Panhandle who were going to vote on the way home from work. These people who were mostly Republicans heard the news on their car radio and they decided to not vote. If the press waited for the polls to close, there would never have been a problem because Bush would have been way ahead of Gore.
