Despite the popular belief that God is causing this sufferring due to him being ruler of the world, the bible actually points out that there is someone else ruling this world.

1 John 5:19 states "We know that we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one." Thus, the wicked one as reference to satan, is the actual ruler of this world who is causing the pain and suffering we face

However, Gods word does not leave us without hope. Revelation 21:4 states "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away". Yes, God himself promises to soon end all pain and suffering in the very near future.

Many people blame God for all the suffering in the world because they think that God rules the world.  Some may say that everything that happens to a person, including tragedies, has already been decided by God and that we can never understand why. Others may even say that people, including little children, die so that they can be with God in heaven. But that isn’t true. Jehovah never causes bad things to happen. The Bible says: “It is unthinkable for the true God to act wickedly, for the Almighty to do wrong!”  Job 34:10.

The Bible tells us that “the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.” (1 John 5:19) The ruler of this world, Satan, is vicious and cruel. He is “misleading the entire inhabited earth.” (Revelation 12:9) Many people imitate him. And that’s just one reason why the world is so full of lies, hatred, and cruelty.

In the future, we can experience in full God’s original purpose for us when he eliminates suffering and grants everlasting life to his friends, those who worship him.—Psalm 37:10, 11.

the question needs to be more informative, the question is too general because many things cause sufferings, suffering from hurting yourself is only one type, suffering from someone else hurting you is only just another, suffering from getting older is another, suffering from believing something you shouldn't is another, that's called emotional suffering, suffering for NOT believing something you should be believing, that's another, you need to be more specific with your question to get a correct answer, the best answer I can give you from a biblical perspective is called a lack of knowledge, most sufferings come from this because IF you only knew how to avoid it, you would or at least you should, I also can't neglect saying this other form of suffering which is called suffering for doing what is right.

Our suffering is from three main sources - our own sins, the sins of others, and the laws of nature. It was to prevent the first two kinds of suffering that God gave us His Commandments. As long as we obey His directions, we won't suffer from our own sins, and if other people obey Him, we won't suffer from their sins. As for the laws of nature, we live in a  natural world, and are subject to such natural laws, just as Jesus was when He lived on Earth. When He was a kid and fell, He skinned His knee, just like any other human being. He was frequently hungry, was sometimes sick, and suffered all the little inconveniences that are part of human life. And of course He suffered an agonizing death, for our benefit. So, why would we expect to be free of such natural suffering?

Because of the sin of Adam.

Blame human suffering on Satan and Adam. There was no suffering in Eden until Adam betrayed God. It was only then that God ejected Adam and Eve from Eden and into a cold, hard, relentless and unforgiving world.
