Isn't it interesting that the same Democrats who wanted to get rid of the Electoral College are so in favor of it now. Why is that?

Hmmm 🤔, isn’t it interesting how the republican party, who has always loved the electoral college, now questions the validity because their candidate lost? I guess they will have to consider another system. Oh I know, how about a popular vote system?!

It's not just democrats Ann... it is also Independents like myself who see a con man trying to pull a big con on really dumb people like yourself who think that a college education somehow makes them smart. You are very good at proving that that is not truly the case. For the record though I should actually state that I am not for the Electoral College at all. I am for the people electing the president. Something a low intelligence moron like yourself would never understand.

Currently are really in favor of the Electoral College. I don't think you'll find anyone who thinks that it's a good idea or adds any value to the country. You don't hear any kind of griping about it this time around because it did what it's supposed to do, and ratified the will of the people. 80 million Americans, over 50% of them, voted for Joe Biden and he has the majority in the Electoral College. In that sense, the college worked. The complaints in 2016 were based on the fact that the electoral college did not work. Donald Trump got 46% of the vote, not only less than a majority but less than his opponent got. And yet despite this he also got 306 electoral votes. The fact that Donald Trump could earn 306 electoral votes in 2016 while losing by 3 million votes and Joe Biden could win 306 electoral votes in 2020 while winning by 7 million votes shows there's a huge problem with the Electoral College.

I think the hypocrisy here is not with Democrats but with some Republicans. Prior to election night 2016, many Trump supporters naively believed that he would get a majority of the vote. But because of the Electoral College some of them thought that he might end up losing the race anyway. These Trump supporters, correctly, denounced this possibility as anti-democratic. If Trump won the majority of votes than he should become president and it would be wrong for the Electoral College to steal it from him. And yet, when it turned out on Election night that Trump had lost the popular vote and yet won the Electoral College many of the same people can praising the organization as something necessary for our government

I haven't heard anything like that.  Why?  If the electoral college is dismissed, Biden still wins.  80,000,000 > 74,000,000, just as 306 > 232.

Trump is on record as saying that the Electoral college should be abolished. He said it was a "disaster for democracy."

Are they? It changes so often I have trouble keeping up. Are the Democrats still for burning cities down, raping people, and murder in the streets? Because I don't remember them stopping it and it was all going on in the cities they controlled. And who was paying some of them to be violent? They worse new clothing, they got a plane ride to other places to riot in, they got bailed out by Harris and funded by rich people. So if they hate America that much, what is to stop them from killing the Electoral Collège?
