How do you feel about certain laws?

This will be a multiple part question series. I'm just curious to see how people in different areas of the political compass feel about certain laws. First question:

How do you feel about state laws that make seat belts mandatory?

There are still some who think that increased deaths from not wearing belts is ok. Until it's one of their own.

Seat belts have been the law most of my driving life, long before there were airbags. I am grateful that they have saved countless lives, including my own. Before that, people often went through the front windshield during wrecks, and windshields didn't have that safety film either.

Nowadays, the seat belt also protects you from the airbag, which hits with such force it can kill someone. Airbags too have saved many lives in head-on collisions.

Republicans don't generally support either in the theory that manufacturers are not responsible for consumers' use of their products - "let the buyer beware" - but I'd venture to say that seatbelts and airbags give equal-opportunity protection.

I feel awkward unbuckled. No one wants an unbuckled body unrestrained in an auto accident where it can do additional harm.

I'd wear a seatbelt even if it was not a law.  Because that is what smart people do.  Dumb people go thru the windshield.
