Vaccinations will start in late December for doctors and nurses and people who live in nursing homes.

Maybe by the end of December but it is going to be a slow process.
The Pfizer vaccine is 2 dose vaccine. The 2nd dose 21 days after the first.
Pfizer says it can make 30 million doses per month. So to vaccinate all 330 million Americans, that would be 660 million doses, will take at least 22 months.
Add to that the Pfizer vaccine has to be stored at 70 below so distribution will be factor that could extend that 22 months.
And the big unknown is how long will the Pfizer vaccine provide protection? Since things were rushed big time there has not been any long term studies. But at this point something is better than nothing.
