Everyone is intelligent to some degree. Highly intelligent people stand out if you’re looking.
Super bright people seem addicted to learning. They tend to educate themselves at every opportunity, and don’t necessarily stick to one subject.
They need quiet solitude more than the average person. They “recharge” mentally that way.
They also don’t settle for first answers and ask “why?” a lot. They pursue reasons behind things.
They’re typically very honest. They risk offending because dishonesty is seen as a waste of effort.
The ability to communicate is tricky, though. Some geniuses are skilled in the ability to comprehend tough subjects and relay that information well. Others are handicapped by their intellect and seem to be speaking over the top of everyone else; not to be rude, but because their brains are operating on another level.

It depends where in the world that you live. In the USA it has been so long since any examples of intelligence have been seen that it is officially extinct. Examples are imported periodically but if exposed to the rest of society they quickly become infected and such intelligence dies out again.
