trump got away with it in the private sector . as president , he got a bunch of people very willing to testify against him .

Nobody I can think of. Trump is well known for praising somebody new when they came to his team, and then a few months down the road, he bad mouths them as they abruptly leave. He does not want advisors, he wants minions.
