I feel like a have a massive bubble in my throat and chest?

I have woken up this morning with a pain in my throat and chest and it feels like a bubble. It almost feels like when your just about to burp and you can feel it coming but I can’t get rid of it. It’s really painful when I try to swallow anything and when I eat I can feel pain all the way down my oesophagus as the food travels down. I also feel really tired and am struggling to do day to day things. I have never had acid reflux before but I’m wondering if it’s that?  I’ve taken acid reflux medicine but it has done absolutely nothing. I have also not eaten anything that is different from my normal diet😣 any ideas on what is wrong and what I can do?? I would call the doctors but want to try everything before I do that.

It does sound like acid reflux and not some mysterious medical emergency as someone else suggested. Some medications work for some people but not others. I unfortunately don't have much success with reflux meds but the best I've found is Nexium which is now available over the counter and costs from £6 in Tesco. I also take the own brand version of Gaviscon throughout the day.

It probably isnt, but could be very serious. If it persists today, you should seek urgent or emergency treatment.

It's likely a big glob of mucous.  Try spitting throughout the day.  This might not be appreciated by those afraid of Covid but you need to deal with this problem and not worry about the opinion of others.
