If you loved life in the 1950's, the top tax rate paid for much of it as did corporate taxes.

If you charge everyone the same percentage of their income the rich will still pay more because they earn more.
The Federal Government has about four million people on its payroll. Assuming half are the Military that leaves about two million who do what, exactly? Each state has its own government so what do the Feds do?
If you could save two million salaries at, say, $50,000 a time, that will save $100 billion - and many salaries will be well over $50,000. Why not concentrate of having a smaller government?
How many schools and hospitals would that create? How many more do you need?

Yes but it never works that way when Democrats are in office. The rich find loopholes.

"From each according to ability " is a good starting point for everyone -- rich and poor alike .
"Taxing the mega wealthy" is just another way of some people shirking their own responsibilities

Republican here. I'm in favor of taxing the mega wealthy for universal basic income. That's it. Schools and hospitals shouldn't receive any direct funding any longer. This year exposed how worthless and political they both are, shutting everything down to save lives while then supporting BLM riots simultaneously. None of us will ever believe any of you frauds again.

I support taxing the wealthy more to abolish poverty since many have more wealth than they could ever spend in their life times, for things like universal housing, healthcare, ubi and education
Source(s): but then again I am not a republican, I am economically left and socially right wing(cause I value things like tradition and the family structure) - Anonymous4 months ago
NO. I support a flat tax rate paid by everyone with an income. No deductions. No exceptions. No exemptions. everyone has the same rights. Everyone should have the same responsibilities.
