How to better understand the U.S. policy, culture, and pretty much everything that's going on inside it? ?

Question

I'm preparing to emigrate to the U.S.: zealously learn English, reading books, watching TV shows, reading Wikipedia, BBC news, and so on.

What things do I need to watch/read first? There's a lot of information, but I feel that I'm not focusing on the premier information.

Like I miss things that everyone knows and consuming information that which some Americans knows.

Like it really depends whether u r a white European or not. If u r a white European, then u would still need to know basic English but not every inch of infrmation about America. But if u arent, it would be better to come prepared, things can get bad in rural and southern states

This is not to say that America is racist but u should be prepared for the worst circumstances
