Computer issues?

I'm having a problem with my computer. It seems to drain battery super fast. I do not have a lot on it and I even went through my task manager. I saw my computer went from 90 percent to 19 in less than a hour and from 19 percent to dead. Any tips?

I notices this same thing happening, the battery had completely died and could not hold any charge anymore. After you have gotten a new battery (or before if you can use it from the wall outlet), I would suggest doing a deep scan of your computer for any viruses. I used Malware Bytes and found a Bitcoin miner had being unknowingly installed and was using all my battery up a lot faster.

Your battery is reaching the end of it's life. Buy a replacement battery or be prepared to have your laptop plugged in and on life support whenever you use it. I've owned a few laptops that couldn't even turn on without being plugged in.

Hi Floyd, I would change the battery.  In the long run, the hassle of waiting for it to open, fire up or even do anything isn't worth it. Your wasting your time, I'd use the same time and get that battery!.  All the best Harvey

You must have a battery made in China.

You may need a replacement battery if it's old.  Rechargeable batteries may be rechargeable but they don't last forever.  As they age they experience the issue you're describing of not holding a charge for very long.

Having a lot of apps running in the background or heavy video streaming can also kill a battery pretty quick.

    Replace the battery. It’s dying.

seems your battery is about to give up the ghost.  those things only last about 3 years anyway ... time to begin looking on internet for a replacement.  -- grampa

Does it then seem to charge back up to 100% very quickly too?  Does the battery go flat quickly, yet it runs just fine on power without getting excessively hot or running the fans flat out?  If so then that's usually a sign that your battery is at the end of its life.
