Jehovah is the personal name of the only true God, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
It is the name Jehovah has chosen to be his name for all time.
Exo 3:15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, Jehovah, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name forever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.
It is true, God has many titles and qualities, such as 'God', 'Father', 'Almighty', Merciful, 'Loving' and 'Lord'
These words may even be 'common names' but they are not his personal name.
"Yehovah" appeared in the Hebrew copies of the Holy Text, in the 1000 century C.E. some 200 years before it became Iehova in latin.
In Greek in the 2nd or 3rd century C.E. it was spelled: ΙΕΗΩΟΥΑ. A later spelling was IAO
Looking up the name Jehovah in modern dictionaries you find:
Jehovah noun
Old Testament the personal name of God, revealed to Moses on Mount Horeb (Exodus 3)
God's personal name appears some 7000 times in the Bible, more times than the titles "God and Lord" combined.
God's personal name appears more times than the titles "God, Lord and the name Jesus" combined.
To claim this name is just one of many, makes God's name worthless.
A direct violation of the 10 Commandments.
(Exodus 20:7) 7 “You must not take up the name of Jehovah your God in a worthless way, for Jehovah will not leave unpunished the one who takes up His name in a worthless way.

Jehovah is God's name, just like the Son has a name so does the Father. Jesus is not Jehovah incarnate like the mormon's keep saying because the is not true. Jesus prayed to his Father in heaven and said he can not do anything without the Father. Jesus said the Father is greater then he is. Jehovah is the Almighty God and Jesus is a Mighty God

The Jehovah’s witness teem makes two very interesting statements regarding the name Jehovah in his answer.
(1) It is the name Jehovah has chosen to be his name for all time.
(2) To claim this name is just one of many, makes God's name worthless. A direct violation of the 10 Commandments.
The point is are these statements correct?
Well not according to Geoffrey W. Jackson, a member of Teem’s Governing body, One of the ‘Faithful and discreet slave’ Whom allegedly, God uses to explain true doctrine to the Jehovah’s witnesses.
In the video posted you will see Mr Jackson make the following claim:
“First of all, let’s establish why we use the name Jehovah in English. Is it because it’s the closest pronunciation to the original? NO We use the name Jehovah because its widely recognised in English”
So according to Mr Jackson It is NOT the name Jehovah has chosen to be His name for all time because it’s the closest to the original. It is just the name used “because it is widely recognised in English”.
So if we just use that name because it is “widely recognised in English” then its ok to use other names for God not so “widely recognised in English” which is NOT a “Direct violation of the Ten commandments” as teem so wrongly claims.

"Jehovah" is A name for the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the Triune God who created heaven and earth. It is A name, but not His ONLY OFFICIAL name.
Jehovah's Witnesses like to claim it is the Lord's "official personal" name, but as usual they are wrong. If He does have one, it's probably "I Am" (Exodus 3:15, John 8:58). But I really don't think the Lord cares which name we use, as long as it is spoken with reverence and respect.

Jehovah is one of the MANY names for God. To insist on, as your faith group does, that it is the ONLY name for God is short sighted in the extreme.

It's just another of the thousands of names humans gave the gods they invented.
Gods were invented to explain thunder and stuff.

Must be someone with high standards because many halibut are not good enough for Jehovah.
