Should the U.S. go into a severe lockdown?
So, should the U.S. go into a severe lockdown like the United Kingdom because of the coronavirus strain?

Why? Because a few small businesses have survived and the left hasn't totally destroyed the economy?

No. What you are seeing is mostly fatigue. After a year of trying to protect themselves from the Chinese virus, people are fatigued.
I myself maintain the protections advised by the CDC. I also received the 1st of 2 shots a few weeks ago. I am slated for shot #2 by the end of this month.
@JimmyC: "americans" (sic) are stupid? Americans are tired of pooh-bear shenanigans.

It should, but americans are too stupid and too selfish to obey lockdown rules, especially Trump supporters. They know there is a pandemic, but they still get together in large crowds without masks, fly away for vacations and generally spread the disease.
They would never obey a national lockdown. They would rather die. And that is what they are doing.

Yes they should, the holidays are over and summer is a ways off. There is nothing to lose by closing down now until Easter. Just be reopened by summer.

I'm in the UK and in March when a similar lockdown happened, I didn't see any more police and it was being ignored, not by me but so many people. There was an illegal rave locally and the police couldn't stop it, all they did was block roads around it to stop more going. Boris doesn't get voted for in the poor parts where the virus spreads the most, he is locking down to impress rich voters who have low infection rates because they are all spaced out, each constituency has a similar number of people in them and the ones Boris wins are larger areas with rich people spread out, not poor constituencies which have the same amount of people but are smaller patches of land, with all those people crammed into 1960's tower blocks. The new lockdown is about to start from midnight (an hour's time) but it will be the same as March.

Um, haven't we all been through this already? Did it work last time? Or the time before that? They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over again and expecting a different result.
Well here it is.
