Is $79 for 100 rounds of M193 ammo a good deal?

It seems high to me, but that's what's available at a local pawn shop right now. Yeah, it's been a while since I've been in the market for the stuff.

Also, are Thermold Ar-15 magazines any good? I see some 20-rounders for $14 apiece right now.

It all depends on how bad you want or need the ammo in the first place. Let's not forget the biggest problem.  Availability. Yes the price is high, if you need it or want it bad enough you will pay the price. Are you actually able to shop other stores for the same ammo? If so then check out the other stores and see if the prices vary, and buy the least expensive.  In my case I was looking for 1000 rds of 9mm. Absolutely not available in my area. I found a source 3 hours away, made the trip and purchased the Box. Just short of $900.00. Yes that includes tax. The per round cost was roughly .80 a round.  Was it worth it. Well, lets see. If I waited probably months to buy up 1000 rds as they became available with multiple daily trips to the local gun shops. Then it probably wasn't worth the drive. Now consider this with all the daily trips to the gun shops and prices that are being charged in the area, It would have probably still cost about the same. So you decide.   Happy Shooting

#1 reason ammo prices are so high is people pay to get it.

Even local auctions have gotten competitive getting high $$ for ammo.

That is 79 cents a round.   You can find the same ammo for less than half of that.  So yes,  it is HIGH.

Any .223 or 5.56 ammo is scarce so if it will go bang then buy it because it`s going to get scarcer.

That is the average super inflated price right now. So you’d be paying what other people are paying:A number that is over three times then what it should be.

Friend it might be high but I'd get it while the getting is good
