Why don't we just admit that nobody actually wants this so called "unity"?

You are wrong.  Most people want to get along,  Religious nuts are willing to kill the country over abortion.  85% of the people don't give a crap about abortion.  Most == probably 90% of the country wants sensible gun control.  About 9% of the right want no gun control with no regard for deaths of a whole class of kindergardners or 100 killed in a bar/dance club.  Death means nothing as long as Wayne keeps his million dollar salary at the NRA office and spreads his lies about democrats will take away all guns.  ===  Most people are not racist, but propaganda about Blacks and "Mexicans" keeps their racism alive and in power.

 = = = Most people are concerned with the deaths of their grandparents and the possible deaths of their parents.  Most are concerned with jobs, paying the bills, buying a home, and somehow trying to save for retirement.  Compared to these concerns, abortion is about number 11 on their minds.  ====  The far right has taken control of the media (Fox News) and brainwashes people into accepting those other things as having higher priorities.  If yu can get people away from their influence they will realize that abortion and guns are really LOW priorities for everyone.

 = = = = = Asked out of context = = like a single question, the priorities are extimated to be higher.  ===  Like are you worried about the democrats taking away your guns??   A stupidly worded question that implies that all democrats want to take away all guns  A few nuts might want to do that, but most democrats own guns and hunt and don't want to give up their guns either. = = = "Researchers" purposly ask questions worded like that so that you will believe the implied lie and give the answer that they want.  They cold ask a much more neutrally worded question like .... What is your feeling about gun control? - - with no mention of either political party.

Wrong. What you want just splits the US more. When people are tasked with law-making and government, it's important for them to listen to all constituents, not just nut.jobs.

Republicans  crying for UNITY,  is like Chickens chanting for more McNuggets. 

They spent the last 4 years being the most divisive pieces of sh*t......and now because they lost the House, Senate and White House.......they want "unity"  so they can still somehow stay revelant.

Realistically, "unity" amounts to one side having an overwhelming advantage over the other. It's feasible, at least for the Democrats, who have a centrist in the WH and battleground states about to turn blue. The danger is the Dems overplaying their hand. Remember SCOTUS - Brett and Amy.

All the liberals and conservatives I know want to coexist.  The calls for division is coming from the main stream media.
