Can you imagine having no home to live in or no money to get food or clothing? Can you imagine no government programs to assist?

 Does the government have a role in creating policies to address this?

    I imagine I would get myself an entry level job, which there are lots of.  Two people banding together and earning minimum wage are making $40,000 per year.

    When I was young, we suddenly went on something my mother called 'Soldiers and Sailors Relief'. (Welfare) At that time, I was 12 and decided I would NEVER beg for money if things got tough. Soon I had the biggest newspaper route in town. I am now in my late 60s, and still working, and never had to beg.

    Yes. That is reality for some people in this world. Their need for safety drives them to go where there are other people in the same situation. From there they don't see a path to self sufficiency, so they remain and hope for rescue or at least aid in the form of food. It is a very hard thing to even know about, much less experience.

    Been there and done most of that. 

    Wasn't easy but survived living on the street and living in a closet sized economy apartment.

    Yes.

    Can you imagine four walls, a fence with concertina wire,  Cant  leave for 4 years?Manys  the time when in Prison, I Envied street people. They Are Free.

      Ive met persons Living on streets that Had jobs. Just Refused to pay $700-$1,00 a month  for an Apartment...ID blame 'em.

    EDIT: "Minimum wage" in My city is $15,600,

    Yes, I can. I was homeless for a time. It sucks.
