Lonely in college because of covid?

The first week was good, I met some people and had a lot of fun. With the rise in cases our college has become a lot stricter. All classes are now online, I don’t go to the dining hall, end everyone has to keep their distance. My depression that I’ve been able to keep at bay the last few months is starting to creep it’s ugly head. In. Everyday feels the same and I’m trapped in a concrete room by my self most hours of the day. It’s not like I can go outside it’s 4 degrees out. I’m starting to go crazy because I need social interactions and to stay busy in order to distract myself. What do I do? I’m paying 50k to be stuck in a prison bored out of my mind .

Treatment usually begins by seeing the GP, who can give you a referral. I mention referral because just a bottle of pills is not a very good approach.

The things you'd want to tell the doctor are how you feel at different times of day, any symptoms you might have such as change in appetite or sleep, and things in your life affecting how you feel.

If you're depressed, I can't tell you exactly what you need. There's no one size fits all solution. I can tell you though that there are healthy lifestyle choices that can enhance the effects of the standard treatments with office visits. You're welcome to click on my name and read. This has details about self-help based on cognitive-behavioral therapy and lifestyle choices that help with depression - nutrition, basic lifestyle things like sleep, exercise, and social support, also traditional Asian methods.
