Who pays for her lawyer?
The wife and I are getting a divorce. I've hired an attorney to fight for me and my daughter. She says she's getting one also but hasn't. If she does, who pays for hers? I'm already paying for mine but she doesn't work. THX.

She pays for her own attorney. Also, I don't know if you're aware of this, but in almost all states, it's much better to be the person filing first, especially when a child is invoved. Your wife will be the respondent, and it's tougher when the other party sets the ground rules. If she has any interest in partial or full custody of your daughter, it's not smart that she's not already represented. Also, the fact she doesn't work doesn't matter.

Your lawyer cannot truly work for both you and your daughter. What if her interests and yours do not coincide. If she is old enough to be represented then she hires her own lawyer and is responsible for the costs. You MAY choose to pay them but that is a choice not a duty.

She pays for her lawyer, you pay for yours.
My sister’s had to take her ex to back to court three times for not following the divorce decree. He had agree to pay for his daughter’s college in the original divorce and child care then he refused. Then said he only would pay if the daughter went into the Peace Corp first. He lost all three times and had to pay her court and lawyer fees.
