Can the COVID-19 discussion be summed up as below?

    There's a lot of deflection using fear, shame, "if it were YOUR grandmother dying...!", etc, etc. 

    This is just more politicizing of a pandemic. What kind of global society does that?

no, that is an exaggerated and excessive oversimplification of the complexity of sociopolitical factors in play throughout the duration of the pandemic which has led to the death of over 450,000 Americans and the untold suffering of survivors.
