I'm currently naming ferals in the colonies I feed from moons, specifically moons of Uranus, which has 27 so we'll be at it for a while before moving on to Neptune (17).  U's moons have names from Shakespeare and Alexander Pope

All names are available. No cat will get mad at you because you gives it an unflattering name so any name is good. 

Many people name their pets after movie or TV characters , or their favorite singers . Maybe after a sports star . A black cat that is funny you could call Chris Rock .

I tend to name animals based on how they act.  If your cat takes his time strolling around and copping an attitude then "Bogart" could work, or if he like to sit where he can see everything then maybe "Nero".  Or yours may be a "Miss Priss" or a "Reaper".  Just don't create a name that would be awkward to use, unless you are into that kind of thing.  I would rather not step outside and yell for "Joe Biden" or "Donald Trump" to get in the house.
