What does II Timothy 2:18-19 mean "the resurrection hasn't passed already?"  Has Jesus not risen?  Is it talking about our DEAD spirits?

Since born "DEAD spirits" (Romans 5:12-14; I Corinthians 15:21-22)

To whom Jesus commanded "You must be born again of the spirit" (John 3:5-7).

Is II Timothy 2:18-19 speaking of our "DEAD spirits" that says

18 "Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this (((SEAL))) [Ephesians 1:13], The LORD knoweth them that are His. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity" (II Timothy 2:18-19)?

Update:

@  ?

"Also I set watchmen over you, saying, HEARKEN TO THE SOUND OF THE TRUMPET.  But they said, We will not hearken"(Jer 6:17).

"Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven:(Acts 1:11)

"Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we Him no more"(II Cor 5:16).

Update 2:

@DEAD SPIRITS

THE (((REAL))) RESURRECTION IS THE "FIRST RESURRECTION: (REV 20:6) FROM YOUR "DEAD SPIRITS" (ROMANS 5:12-14; I CORINTHIANS 15:21-22) OR YOUR WORSHIP IS IN VAIN

BEING (((DEAD))) WHEN

"THE DEAD KNOWS NOTHING AT ALL" (ECCLESIASTES 9:5)

"GOD IS NOT THE GOD OF THE DEAD" (MARK 12:27)

SO WHO ARE YOU WORSHIPING (I COR 10:21)?

IF MAN'S RESURRECTION "HAS PASSED ALREADY" (II TIM 2:18-19) FROM THEIR DEAD SPIRITS, YOU REMAIN (((DEAD!)))

There was always a dispute between the Sadducees and the Pharisees.  One sect believed in the resurrection of the dead and the other sect said that there was no resurrection.

The true Resurrection of the dead hasn't happened yet.  It states clearly in 1 Thessalonians 4:16, that Jesus Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and the trump of God and DEAD in CHRIST SHALL RISE FIRST, then we who are ALIVE AND REMAIN shall be CAUGHT UP TOGETHER WITH THEM IN THE CLOUDS, etc.  That's the resurrection of the dead and living, because that's when, in a moment - in the twinkling of an eye AT THE LAST TRUMP we all rise - (remember the last trump sounds when Jesus descends from heaven with a shout AT THE LAST TRUMP (1 Thess 4:16). So in that way, it hasn't happened yet.

Those wicked were obviously saying Jesus Christ hadn't risen from the dead yet - which was a lie, but by saying such a thing to people, they were taking away the hope of their resurrection from being born through their mother's womb (as we all are) - spiritually dead in Adam's transgressions (before we are made alive by Christ and are born again, and by that, they were obviously implying that Jesus Christ couldn't give them life NOW, in this life - when He is the only one who could have and can (Ephesians 2: 1 & 5).

It is clearly stated that it is Jesus who quickens - or makes alive the spiritually dead, and raises us up and has already made us to sit in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6).  None of that would be possible if Jesus Christ hadn't already been resurrected Himself, because we are saved in having the answer of a good conscience before God, through the RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST (1 Peter 3:21).  Jesus has already risen from the dead, and that's how He has already given us eternal life so that we shall never perish (as long as we are His sheep, hear His voice and follow Him) - John 10: 27 - 30

That certainly wouldn't be possible if Jesus hadn't already been crucified for our sins and RISEN FROM THE DEAD HIMSELF.  In addition, if Christ is not already risen, our faith is futile and void and we are of all men most miserable because WE ARE STILL IN OUR SINS. (1 Corinthians 15: 12 - 17).  God forbid!

When Paul wrote this letter to Timothy, mid first century, there were men teaching that Christ had already returned and left with his chosen. People were upset that they had been left behind.

2 Timothy 2:17-18 KJV — And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

He spoke there of the resurrection events of Rev 20, inferring that Christ had already returned and left with his saints.

Paul was telling Timothy to ignore such rubbish.

Verse 16 warns us about people like you

2 Timothy 2:16 KJV — Shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

1 Timothy 2:12 KJV — And I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

It's talking about the resurrection of the (saved) Christians.

    Apparently

    at that time

some were teaching that it had already occurred

    i.e.

that all of the people who were going to be raised from the dead

had already been raised from the dead

    in a single event

    that was now past.

He is talking about an age to come when the dead will be resurrected with a glorified body.  He is not talking about the resurrection of Christ, that has already occurred.

34 Jesus replied, “The people of this age marry and are given in marriage. 35 But those who are considered worthy of taking part in the age to come and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, 36 and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels.(Luke 34-36.

"4 I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They[a] had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.(Revelation 20:4-6)
