Spiritually speaking, are things good because God calls them good, or does God call things good because they are good?

With god all things are possible making all things good for it is all God.. With God no one is dead, no one can steal when it all belongs to you , no one can tell a lie when you can make it truth, everything that is evil is only so If you are divided and not one with everything.

Everything God created is good, and will always be good. It is our abuse of things He has created that is bad.

We have a conscience we must keep clean

God calls things good because they are good.  He is as bound by eternal laws; there are standards he has to adhere to.

Good is from above. God precedes everything, therefore, God calls them good. Good cannot be passed on. It is an internal state and never quite without an element of evil due to human will and choices.

They are good because God calls them good.  God does not call rape or murder good, but says "do not kill."  In reading the Holy Bible, you will learn what God considers to be moral for all mankind.  For instance, in Leviticus homosexuality is called an abomination.   Abominations make desolations.  Consider the fact that man never died from not having sex.  Man can refrain from acting upon such things.

God calls things good because they are good.

  God is all good and he is good all of the time. There is not even a hint of darkness in him.

Psalm 92:1-2 KJV — It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night.

At this point, if God says something is good, then I stop arguing with him about it.
