    Don't need "quadratic formula".

    d^2 = gmM/F => d = sqrt(gmM/F)

    F = gmM/d²

    so, d² = gmM/F

    Hence, d = √(gmM/F)

    That’s not a quadratic formula. 

    F = gmM

    ......——-

    ........d^2

    Fd^2 = gmM

    d^2 = gmM

    ..........-———

    ..............F

    d = +/- square root (gmM/F)
