NHS nurse suspended for 17 months. Is she entitled to public holidays while suspended??
That's for a friend. She was suspended for 17 months and now reinstated. She never got paid any public holidays for that time. Her Unison rep says NO. That doesn't seem right

She was suspended on full pay as that is written into the employment law in the UK, so had 17 months of paid 'holiday'... the UNISON rep is correct

You're not "entitled" to any holiday pay while suspended. That's why they call it "suspended without pay."

If she was suspended she shouldn't have been paid at all. Otherwise it is nothing other than a paid vacation.

It depends whether she was suspended WITH PAY or WITHOUT PAY. If it was with pay, then she has already been paid for those days at her standard rate. If she was suspended without pay, she is not entitled to be paid for those days.
