The red blood cell was taken from the body where they were in a solution with a total solute osmolarity of 0.3 molar concentration.

    2.0 molar saline is much more concentrated than 0.3 molar saline, so water will osmose out of the cell, causing it to collapse and look like the left-hand diagram (hypertonic) in the first picture at
