There is some continual debate on this topic. Facts can be cited on both sides regarding ionizing radiation.
IF compared ONLY to 2.4GHz, than 5GHz would 'appear' to not be any worse for you than your old Wi-Fi router outputting 2.4GHz.
The studies that did find a slight increased risk of cancer when using Cellular or Wi-Fi devices actually found that it is your phone, not your router that is the real issue. That is because you place your phone to your ear, adjacent to your brain.
Most of the studies focused on having your phone continually next to your ear for 4-6 hours a day.
Again, current evidence runs in both direction - both that it is and is NOT a risk.
So it is not 100% clear if and what risk level cellphones represent.
The best way to mitigate any possible risk is to:
Stay at least a foot or more away from cellular and wi-fi devices. Don't put your head directly next to your Wi-Fi router for hours at a time for years and years.
The same goes for your cellphone - use speaker phone or wired headphones (bluetooth also uses 2.4GHz radio waves). Place your phone a few inches or feet away from you when not in use.
Get up and exercise - this will probably do MORE to improve your health than merely staying away from radio waves.
The reality is that we are basically bathed continually in radio waves - some from the Sun, some from radio and TV towers, from cellphone towers, from our neighbor's wi-fi router or from wi-fi networks at the grocery store or Doctor's office, etc.
Our own work place probably has Wi-Fi coverage all over the office or campus.
So reality is that it is nearly impossible to get away from it.
But we can limit our exposure to those radio waves being just inches from our skull by not talking on our cellphone as much. TXT more, talk less!

Not any worse than any other device in your home. To be honest if you have a microwave in your kitchen that may be worse, are you concerned about your microwave oven?

5 GHz commonly called 5G doesn't have any more effect on a hamster that's sitting right next to the router then the 2.4 does the hamster doesn't die it doesn't run around it just behaves like it's not even there if it's not hurting a hamster it's probably not going to hurt a person

No it is not bad for your Health. The Power Levels are so low they can not cause any harm.
The Power for WIFI is Measured in Milli-Watts. that is less than 1 Watt.

health of what?higher frequencies are not magically "worse for you". they all do some minor damage to whatever they pass through. the only difference is the wavelength.

Ionizing radiation, the dangerous penetrating kind, starts at about 300GHz. 5GHz is not dangerous unless it is emitted at high enough power to cook you. Far more than a home WiFi router puts out.
