Do Christians have to want to be helped by atheists before they will accept our help?
And before they can want to be helped, they have to admit their addiction to a coping mechanism is a problem for them, right?

Meh, who cares? Let them get on with their game of Dungeons and Dragons. Providing they don't start burning people again of course.

I'll accept an atheist's help. No problem there. Just last month, my atheist plumber came over and fixed my toilet. I also have a dentist who is ignorant of the reality of God.

YES to the 1st and NO to the 2nd.
YES for anyone - in order to be helped, one must accept the help.
But NO to the simplistic idea that Christianity is ONLY or MERELY a coping mechanism and nothing else AND/OR the idea that it is an addiction. I don't think it fits the DSM v4 or 5 definition of an addiction used by clinicians and counselors.
But I see what you're attempting to do -- put down something and score points with others who share your same views. That you're likely just parroting or parodying someone else's question or answer.
If I'm right and that was your goal - then good job.
But YES - Christians are not some bizarre creature - like ALL human beings they won't accept help unless they want the help.

Time to grow up and admit defeat. Atheism requires believing in 'miracles' without any mechanism for overcoming the breathtaking odds involved. The atheist cosmology alone requires accepting odds exceeding one in one duodecellion just for us to be here without being 'seeded' or 'guided' by a higher intelligence. 'Impossible' starts long before we get to 39 zeros.
Atheism is the forensically traceable source of all human foolishness, (Psalm 14:1). Once we embrace it, things like deadly sodomy, genetic and psychological androgyny, gender shifting, burning down cities for 'racial social justice,' aborting viable babies to harvest body parts to cure sexual diseases in adults spread by other deviancy, ghoulishly harvesting organs from accident victims to artificially extend the lives of needlessly dying children, squandering vast treasures on worthless explorations into lifeless vacuums and black holes...These things actually start to make perfect sense. In fact, very little doesn't make sense except belief in GOD.

Not a coping mechanism... but the way to the living God, made possible through Jesus Christ because of who He is and what He has done. We don't want your "help" because we know God exists.

If Atheists are correct that God does not exist, then Atheists have created an entire movement around nothing, or to be more precise, around telling each other that Nothing does not exist. I can not really imagine a more pointless pursuit than Atheism.

I think that is true of anybody - they have to want help, or else they will not accept it. Do you want help?
