The Democrats were the racists at one point, but in the 1930s, FDR started addressing poverty in a big way and that drew in many blacks. By 1960, one third of black voters were still Republican, but then the Democrats fully rejected their racist wing (the southern Dixiecrats) and embraced civil rights. The Dixiecrats became Republican, cementing the racist credentials of the Republicans. Who is more qualified to judge racism then those who experience it? Today, all minority groups are largely Democrats.
