Christians, how can you not be an atheist after reading answers from your fellow brethren?
Here is an answer from a christian here about why god drowned babies during the flood.
Seriously, sit back and read this a couple of times, then tell me how sane this reasoning is."Because those millions of babies were half demon! You better thank God and thank him big time.Because those babies would have grown up to do what the nephilim were famous for doing they hunted down normal people for sport and then they ate them. The average height of those creatures were 9 to 16 ft tall.if God wouldn't have killed those babies you and me wouldn't be alive today there would be no human beings alive today this would be a planet dominated by the nephilim half demon half human race."
Lol, Elmer. Did he eat people too?
Calm down anon. You got so excited you forgot to answer my question, dolt.
That explains why I couldn't find it, anon. Why get so upset about my question here. Don't you believe the same as the person I quoted? I don't care enough to try to change your mind. Why so shy, anon?
True, Simon.
Hunter, Hunter, Hunter, what are we going to do with you and your silly outbursts? You do make me giggle tho.........
Elmer, ;)
Hunter, again you are projecting. You might want to calm down before you bust a vein, sweetheart.
Thank You, Samwise, just for being kind. Most Christians here are not like you. The person who I quoted is indeed a Christian. He is a former JW turned Christian. He uses the ID "Jesus" now but was Ari then Matthew, before the new one. The God of the bible is far from how you describe him. Also, how do we know what's suppose to be real or just a story someone made up. That makes things a little more difficult for Christians to prove anything.
Jimson, Hunter isn't well.
Rey, XOXOXO
Pronk, he's a christian, you dolt.
For you, jw "your word"...., why be a stupid prick? Oh, that's right. You are forced to hate anyone who doesn't speak highly of your religion. Pity.
God....agreed.
Justin, the typical religious lunatic who cannot answer a simple question. Project much?
David, thank you but I think we are talking about 2 different gods.
JH, complete lunacy.
anon who posted, "thank you for proving atheists are full of hatred" You wonder why people think you're lunatics? Just read your stupid answer.
@ Mack, I'll let you know, baby.

The casual acceptance of horrific evil found among Christians is horrible. You can't even claim that all the victims were half-Nephilim without running into problems, like the presence of giants in later stories and how Noah's sons managed to find the only three women on earth who weren't half demon, whose relatives apparently all died. It's pretty clear that those stories were invented later to excuse genocide, just like Hitler told a story about Jews ruining Germany as an excuse to kill them all.

The people in the flood were WICKED. That's ALL were.
We haven't QUITE seen that YET. We actually don't know what VIOLENT is YET but you've seen some, a LITTLE.
When you get past a certain portion of the group being violent,
Then it's like the tsunami.
Christians believe there's EVIL run by satan, the opposed.
Satan suspected God might try to SAVE some people, ALL of whom he LOATHED.
So if those people in Noah's day would just kill everyone off who would have brought forth Salvation of some,
problem solved.
When your own house is INFESTED, don't you call in the EXTERMINATORS?
Don't you know genetics? Especially then?
Wicked parents=wicked babies once grown.
Did you know Hitler's mother begged for an abortion?
Denied.
Btw, the bible is a pro choice book.
Jesus HAD TO come through all the way to Adam, INCLUDING NOAH.
All the people were WICKED.
To SAVE some eternally, ONLY Noah and his family could be kept for the forerunners of the Jews.
Satan hoped to destroy ALL Thor Jewish forerunners, and then EVERYONE would belong to him, in bondage.
You don't follow or believe the bible, thus it seems nuts TO YOU.
Eternal salvation will seem the same.
You can NEVER get it, why beat your head? Go live your one life.

Juli, belief in God has nothing to do with some crazy answer by someone who claims to be a Christian.
It's more to do with things like the laws of science and nature. For example, if you right click on this page and select "Inspect Element", you'll see a bunch of computer code. No has to tell you that some intelligent person wrote that code. Codes never code themselves. And the more complex the code, the more complex and intelligent its creator. The same goes with the code in our DNA. Even if some chemist could create a multi-billion-atom DNA molecule in the lab, if he didn’t code it correctly, it would be totally useless. And such obvious evidence for God is found throughout the world.
“... because that which is known of God is revealed in them, for God revealed it to them. For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly [or obviously] seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse” (Rom 1:19-20).

You’re so intelligent that you can copy other people’s answers, but you still can’t prove God doesn’t exist...That guy might be a satan worshipper,or something,
DUH
I'd be anything you'd tell me to be, elegant lady.
Remember, everyone, she's getting married in June to a great guy. You're all invited. She's registered at Bergdorf Goodman.
................................
Pronk, she doesn't have to prove that God doesn't exist since you can't prove that God does exist. Moron. Are you really Reverend Jim?

I think I agree with you on one thing: the reasoning given is not particularly sane. (There's the possibility the writer didn't mean for it to be taken seriously, though.)
My answer to your specific question--how I can not be an atheist--is that I don't believe in the sort of God that either you or that writer describe. The sort of God I believe in is the sort that Christ described, according to the Gospels: a God who loves us and cares for us.
But God (according to my beliefs, probably not that writer's) created us as part of a real world, where real things happen and our physical lives are limited. All of us die, and sometimes people die as infants. We're encouraged to do our best to prevent bad things from happening to infants, but sometimes they happen.
As for the story, which blames God for all those drowned infants, I don't think it's meant to be taken literally. It's quite likely the storyteller who made it up had some kind of acquaintance with real floods, and they can be pretty bad. I live a few hours' drive from a place where a spring flood can actually look like it's covering all the world. It's not surprising that a story would arise about a flood that actually did so, but you'll notice the point of the story was that such natural disasters are limited.
Anyhow, despite the frequency with which Christians, especially we Protestants, make the mistake of worshiping the Bible instead of God, the fact is that Christ, when he said he was come to fulfill the Hebrew scripture, gave as examples a set of cases in which he argued with the way they present some things. You can check that in the latter portion of Matthew 5, part of the Sermon on the Mount.

You expect the people who think that The Flood actually happened to make sense?
Don't expect mythology to make sense.
And expect even less sense from the idiots who insist that is is Absolute Truth!!!

It was a stupid non-question. That’s why I reported it. Why would you think my decision to be Christian would have anything to do what they post on the internet? Why would you think anything You post would change my mind?
